International Womens Day

In honor of International Women’s Day we are reflecting on gender issues, and women who have inspired us along the way. There is no better day to give a shout out to female entrepreneurs who have inspired us then today.

Here are 3 cool entrepreneurs who have inspired us this year and we can’t wait to see what they cook up in 2018:

Nicole Smith who founded Flytographer as an alternative to often disappointing selfies or stranger-taken vacation photos. Her Canadian based startup connects travellers with a community of hundreds of local photographers in 200 destinations around the world for fun candid vacation photo shoots the capture the magic of travel. We have had a few amazing adventures that we did not manage to do justice to with our snapshots, so we think this makes for an amazing keepsake of precious travel memories.

Ami McKay and Salma Muhammad at PURE Design

We love conscientious businesses and one notable entrepreneur we have had our eye on lately launched a super cool philanthropic project this year. Ami McKay of Pure Design is a celebrated interior designer whose work ends up in endless magazine shoots.  This year she launched a philanthropic line of pillows with Canadian newcomer and Syrian refugee Salma Muhammad whom she and a group of friends helped sponsor. Muhammad makes the pillows at home while she watches her children, and McKay markets them and sells them to her clients.

C4 Fan and Mother Muse Magazine startup creator Shereen Jupp.  Jupp after having her first child decided to create a magazine that would keep her connected with the content she loved – fashion, art, and design while still being relevant to mothers. The magazine includes fashion spreads, interviews with inspiring mothers, original art and poetry. All the models are real mothers interacting with their own children. The magazine’s profile is rising and it has influential fans like actress Jaime King.
