What an exciting year for C4. Our biggest highlight? Seeing Sophie Grégoire Trudeau with her husband, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, wearing our Grace sunglasses - made in collaboration with Canadian style personality and influencer Susie Wall. Both Susie and I were so humbled to see our creations worn by such an inimitable Canadian.
Sophie personifies the ultimate C4 woman; she is altruistic, independent, fashion-savvy and socially conscious. We are truly honoured.
Our first Sophie spotting was the summer of 2016, when Sophie and Justin walked the streets of Vancouver for the annual Pride Parade. It was an historic event - the first time a sitting Prime Minister and his spouse had participated in Pride. Sophie stunned in our C4 Grace sunglasses, paired with an aqua jumpsuit by Canadian designer Aleks Susak. Sophie makes a conscious effort to showcase Canadian designers, a gesture that does not go unnoticed by her followers.
Our second sighting of Sophie rocking C4 was an image she herself posted on Instagram in celebration of International Day of the Girl. There she was on the back of a Vespa, alongside actress and advocate Emma Watson. It was an inspired, beautiful moment.
Sophie Grégoire Trudeau is an advocate for gender empowerment, mental health, self-esteem and many other substantial issues which Canadians face. She supports organizations including Because I Am A Girl, UN Women Canada, and the Canadian Mental Health Association. She is a strong voice for change and she leverages her position in the public eye to make marked progress in these fields.
We are grateful that she has included us in her meritorious list of Canadian designers to whom she brings respected visibility. Merci, Sophie.
